We have an exciting opportunity for an Assembly Manager / Manufacturing Manager/ Production Manager to provide srategic guidance to the assembly leadership along with solid tactical skills to “run the business” and meet our KPI’s in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). The Manager will also be required to author and maintain A3's, action plans, and score cards on strategic priorities and Lean Performance System initiatives, report out on those priorities, and enact countermeasures when targets are missed. In addition, the Manager must have solid problem-solving skills, be able to give constant attention to detail, desire for accountability, ability to coach, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Finally, this individual must have a proven record of team member development to align with our Hourly Career Framework.

 The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Promoting safety awareness and housekeeping and investigating and reporting on safety incidents

  • Setting and maintaining high levels of product quality

  • Conducting team-building meetings to promote continuous improvement principals

  • Maintaining a high level of on-time shipments to both internal and external customers

  • Performing planning functions to ensure the timely availability of staffing

  • Create and or maintain solid visuals such as KPI boards

  • Coaching and mentoring direct reports in Problem Solving and other LPS/CI activities

  • Conducting performance appraisals

  • Responsible for decisions regarding hires, promotions, corrective action and terminations

  • Identifying training and skill development to meet departmental needs that aligns with the Hourly Career Framework, and training direct reports to support this initiative

  • Direct responsibility for the assembly value stream including all facets of SQDC

  • Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating and institutionalizing a culture of simplification, standard work, process improvement and lean principles.



Required Qualifications :

Requirements for the Assembly Manager/ Manufacturing Manager / Production Manager:

  • Demonstrated track record of lean manufacturing leadership, sustained improvements, and KPI attainment

  • Experience managing a multiple complex product team within a high mix-low volume manufacturing environment

  • Technical aptitude and knowledge of assembly processes and equipment

  • Proven team-building and change management skills to coach, mentor and empower team members throughout the organization

  • Proven record of developing team members

  • B.S. degree in a technical discipline.

     Relevant Work Experience:
    Minimum of five years of production supervisory experience in high and low volume complex product environments containing multiple shifts.
