TRANSMISSION LINE DESIGNER

An Excellent opportunity for a Transmission. Line Designer to work with a leading EPC.   The Transmission LIne Designer will design poles and overhead line that goes to main plant.  EPC and power generation experience is preferred..  

Responsibilities of Transmission Line Designer includes:

• Prepare scaled physical drawings for transmission line projects with minimal amount of supervision and engineering input


• Develop a complete design drawing package for checking or check the design drawing packages prepared by others.


• Lead project assignments and guide other design staff in preparing design drawing packages.


• Interface with other disciplines in the development of the drawing package


• Create and/or review bills of material, conduit, and cable schedules for transmission line projects.


• Work closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.


• Works in a team environment, takes direction from the lead engineer and creates project drawings.


• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.


• Work at times with limited direction and have the ability to assist with conceptualizing layouts using go-by information.


• Effective technical and practical electrical design and drafting skills ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.


• Ability to travel to job sites to perform site walkdown.

Qualifications: 

• Associate degree or Diploma in Electrical Design


• Substation design and familiarity is required.


• Drafting with discipline specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in electrical design and drafting.


• Has a competent understanding of regulations, electrical codes, manufacturing standards and industry standard practices


• Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation
